8Round app privacy policy
This is a translation for convenience; the Spanish version is the legally binding one.
Last updated: October 3, 2026.
This policy covers the 8Round mobile app, the one you download on your own from Google Play or the App Store.
The most important thing
Without an account, your races stay on your phone. You can use the whole app without signing up and without giving us any data. Only if you turn it on is anything stored outside your phone: if you create an account to have your history in the cloud, if you join the Community to have friends and message them, if you appear in the ranking or if you get 8Round Plus. All of that is off by default and you can remove it whenever you want.
1. Who the controller is
- Controller: Francisco José Fraile León
- Tax ID (NIF): 27313175P
- Postal address: Apartado de Correos 1313, 41012 Sevilla (Spain)
- Email: info@reverfit.com
2. What is stored only on your phone
If you don’t create an account, all of this stays on your phone:
- Your sex, date of birth, height and weight, which the app asks for the first time you open it: they are used to work out the race weights.
- Your race history: each segment, its time and your transitions.
- If you connect a heart rate strap or use 8Round on your Apple Watch or your Garmin watch: the heart rate of each segment and its summary.
- Your settings (color theme, language, notifications).
3. If you create an account (optional)
It’s so you don’t lose your history if you change phones, and it’s needed to join the Community, the ranking or for Plus. If you create one, we keep:
- Your email address and your password (encrypted: we can’t see it).
- A copy of your race history: each segment, its time and the heart rate summary, if you use a strap.
What for: to give you the service you ask for, saving and syncing your history (legal basis: performance of the service you request, art. 6.1.b GDPR). We don’t send any email when you create it: 8Round doesn’t send welcome or news emails.
4. If you join the Community (optional, requires an account)
It’s for having friends inside 8Round, messaging them and, if you want, appearing in the people search (the Directory). If you join, the following is stored:
- A nickname you choose, not your real name. It can’t be changed once created, because it’s also the name you appear with in the ranking.
- A photo, if you want to add one. Only your friends see it, in your list and in the chat; in the Directory, the globe and the ranking you appear with your initial.
- Your friends and the friend requests you send or receive.
- The messages you exchange in the chat.
If you also turn on your visibility in the Directory, your city, country and continent are stored —chosen by you from a closed list; the app never reads your GPS location— and, each with its own switch and off by default: your sex, your age, the gym or box where you train and your personal bests. If you say you are a minor, your age is never shown, even if you have entered it.
Legal basis: your consent, which you give when you turn each thing on and can withdraw whenever you want from Settings. Blocking or reporting someone is recorded so that the report can be handled.
5. If you join the ranking (optional, requires the Community)
The ranking compares those who want to take part, grouped by level. If you join, the following is sent:
- Your Community nickname (the same one as always, not a separate one) and your sex, to separate the leaderboards.
- Your best time at each level you have raced.
- Your city, country and continent, the same as in the Directory, so it can be viewed by area.
Your real name, your email and your age are never sent. Other participants see your nickname, your time and your area. Legal basis: your consent, which you give when you join. When you leave the ranking, your row on the server is deleted.
6. If you get 8Round Plus
You pay through Apple (App Store) or Google Play: your card details are held by the store and we never see them. To know whether you have Plus active we use RevenueCat, which receives the purchase from the store (which plan, when it starts, renews or is canceled) together with your 8Round identifier (your account’s or, without an account, a random one). Neither your name nor your email. The subscription is canceled from your Apple or Google account settings; deleting your 8Round account does not cancel it. Legal basis: performance of the contract (art. 6.1.b). 8Round Plus is only for this app: Reverfit Workout or Reverfit Diet Pro doesn’t unlock it, and it doesn’t unlock theirs.
7. What the app always sends, with no data about you
The video scenes of each station are requested by their file name, with no data about you.
8. What we DON’T do
- There is no advertising and no advertising trackers.
- We don’t sell or pass on your data to anyone.
- Your GPS location is not collected, nor your contacts or your calendar: the city is chosen from a list.
- Apple Watch and Apple Health (HealthKit): on the watch, 8Round uses HealthKit only to read your heart rate while you race. It opens a workout session that is discarded when you finish: it doesn’t save anything to Apple Health or read any other Health data. That heart rate is sent to your phone and treated the same as a strap’s; it is not used for advertising or passed on to anyone.
- Garmin watches: the phone talks to the watch through Garmin’s Garmin Connect app. 8Round only sends it how the race is going and receives the button and the heart rate.
- On Android it does not connect to Health Connect.
- The heart rate strap connects by Bluetooth directly to your phone; Android may ask for the location permission to search for Bluetooth devices, but the app does not read your location.
9. Who it is shared with
With no one, except the companies strictly necessary for the account, the Community, the ranking and Plus to work, which act as processors under contract:
- Supabase: the database, the account system and the Community messages. The data is stored on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
- RevenueCat (United States): keeping track of Plus subscriptions. It receives the purchase and your identifier, never your card. European Commission standard contractual clauses.
Apple and Google charge the subscription as controllers of their own processing, under their own privacy policies.
If a court or a public authority legally required us to hand over information, we would have to comply.
10. How long it is kept and how to delete it
- What is only on your phone: for as long as you have the app. To delete it, uninstall the app or use Clear data in your phone’s settings.
- The account and its cloud copy: for as long as you have the account. From the app: Settings gear → Your account → Delete my account and my data, typing the word DELETE to confirm. Your account, your email, your Community profile, your friends, your messages, your ranking and your cloud copy are deleted immediately; what you have on your phone stays on your phone. If you can’t get in, there’s another way on the account deletion page.
- The ranking: for as long as you take part. When you leave, your row is deleted.
11. Your rights
You can ask us to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing and ask for portability. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to info@reverfit.com, from your account’s email if you have one. We reply within one month at most. If you think we aren’t doing it right, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).
12. Minimum age
The app is not intended for people under 16. You must be at least 16 to create an account.
13. Security
Communications are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted and each person can only read and change their own cloud copy.
14. Important notice
8Round is not a medical device and does not replace the advice of a doctor or a coach. Heart rate figures are approximate. Training and competing with weights carries a risk of injury: if you have an injury, an illness or doubts about your health, consult a professional before you start.
15. Changes to this policy
If the app starts storing data different from what is described here, we will say so on this page before it happens and, where necessary, we will ask for your permission.
